A building automation system that was installed but never properly commissioned runs on assumptions: points that were never verified, sequences that were never functionally tested, and setpoints left at defaults. The result shows up as comfort complaints, energy waste, and alarms nobody trusts. Commissioning is where the installed system is proven against the design intent, point by point and sequence by sequence.

Do you commission systems you didn't install?
Yes, subject to a review of the installed system first. Existing-building recommissioning, which verifies points and sequences on a system that has drifted over years of operation, is often one of the most cost-effective improvements available.
What documentation do we receive at handover?
Typically verified points lists, functional test records, as-left setpoints and sequence documentation, and panel or network documentation as applicable to the project scope.
When should commissioning planning start?
Well before startup. When commissioning expectations are defined during design and installation, checkout runs faster and fewer deficiencies survive to occupancy. We prefer to be involved before the first device is energized.
